A bit of self-promotion here....
There are a few spots left in the upcoming Open Water Scuba class starting Monday March 29th....
This is a class I will be teaching, so if you already know me this could be a very good thing for you.
Classes will be Monday and Wednesday evenings, starting approx 6:30 at Langley Diving. We have about a 1 1/2 hour class session followed by an hour in the pool (usually Walnut Grove).
There are 5 classroom sessions then we head to the ocean for two days, Saturday and Sunday.
We will do three dives on Saturday and three on Sunday.
You will finish this course as a PADI certified National Geographic Open Water Diver.
-> why you want this?
This certification allows you to dive pretty well anywhere in the world (a few places would require additional training, such as ice diving or altitude diving) and most places you go you will be almost overtrained as the conditions everywhere else are 'better'.
(This means the water is warmer and clearer, thus a bit easier diving)
But don't be fooled, we have some of the best diving in the world right around us. The Cousteau group names the BC lower mainland area as the Best Cold Water diving area in the world! Port Hardy and Campbell River area?? OMG that is the BEST!
-> why train with Langley Diving?
Langley Diving is a PADI certified 5* (5 star) Dive Center. This is as good as you can get. All the instructors are (of course!) PADI certified, as well, they all undergo team teaching before allowed to teach a class on their own (most dive centers do not do this - it isn't required).
-> why train with me???
Well, this is a good one. I can only answer this without being humble, as I am very proud of my accomplishment!
I have been diving since 1992, have been a Master Scuba Diver since 1995. I have over 200 dives and over 100 hours underwater, with no incidents or injuries.
The group of 4 instructors (from langley Diving) that passed the examination last November made the other instructor testees look bad in comparison. (there were only 4 of us from Langley Diving!)
We consistantly got very high marks in all the exams and surprised both the examiners with our presentation marks. A 5 is a perfect score for the presentation, all 4 of us got a 5. this is pretty well unheard of and caused quite a few heads to take notice!
