I have been trying to start this bike all day and to no avail. About a month ago i started it for the first time and it fired right up on the first attempt. I went and got a can of seafoam and poured a fairily strong solution into the tank, but not straight it was still mixed with a bit of gas. It puffe dwhite smoke as this stuff normally does. So i let the bike run for 20 mins and shut it off.
When i tried to start it again the bike would crank over and puff lightly, but not fire. Now fast forward a month i figured it was obviously the seafoam and im a dummy for shutting the bike off prematurly with this stuff in it. So here is what i have done all day today. Ill make a list to save time.
Drained gas tank and put in fresh fuel.
Checked choke linkage
Drained the right side float bowl, i couldn't reach the others without a mile long screwdriver
Cranked, and cranked, and cranked, and cranked, and cranked.....cranked some more. Then battery died, then switched in a fresh one, then cranked, cranked, cranked....not so much as a backfire at all.
Went downtown got sparkplug wrench and ether. Pulled the 2 easiest accessible plugs, cleaned them off, they were wet from gas. sprayed ether into the sparkplug holes. Installed plugs and cranked....nothing.
sprayed ether into carb throats, at first just a quick shot, nothing...then a long 10 second spray into each carb throat....nothing.
Then attempted to bump start it twice....nothing.
Now its dark out. So i put everything back togethor and let it sit for tonight. Any help guys?
Like i said it was running fine before this whole seafoam deal. Now it refuses to fire. FYI the plugs are new denso iridium plugs too. just installed last week.
