They might be out to kill us but we can teach them. Read this and consider my idea. I'm gonna try to get something in the works for the island. Anything you can think of that we could cover post it here.
Why don't we as a riding community gather and offer up our version of motorcycle awareness month?
We could hold it somewhere and set up a bunch of stands depicting situations that might help drivers become more aware of motorcycles. Maybe pass on some tips and some experiences of accidents we've been in or close calls we've lived thru in the hopes of educating both new and older drivers.
From simple things like teaching why it's important to have your mirrors adjusted properly to try to eliminate or reduce the size of blindspots. Or maybe a few motorcycle/car space conflict scenarios that we can walk drivers through and point out what they should be looking for.
Maybe get a few sponsers on board and offer hotdogs/drinks to those that attend. Have it on a Sunday in an empty parking lot. Offer some famil rides for those that want them and show them how dangerous it actually is out on the streets. No moving bikes in the parking lot just lots of situations and information. What do you guys think?
