Usually, flashing brake lights, slalom in the lane, and waving them to slow down will get cagers to back off, but how do you guys deal with hardcore assholes?
I was riding on Hwy 1 just a few nights ago, HOV lane, when traffic was clearing up from rush hour. This huge truck came up behind me, started to tailgate, probably because I left a 3 second gap between myself and the other huge truck in front.
After doing all of the above to no avail, I started to slowdown as per ICBC instructions, giving more braking distance. The asshole still wouldn't back off. He finally went all the way to the slow lane when I slowed down to roughly 40km/h, and flipped the bird as he drove by.
Yes, I could have let him passed for my own safety, but I was caught up in the moment; probably won't risk it with a truck again. If only I was in a shitty cage, would've braked hard because a "squirrel dodged in front of me".
