Finally picked up my SV650 today! What an ordeal...I called them on Monday AND Tuesday to tell them I was coming in on Thursday at 2. I arrived at 2:30 and bike still not ready. Finally at 3:30 they roll it out, ready to go! Uh...excuse me, where are my lower fairings?! Went to Metrotown for a bite to eat, finally at 6:15 get to ride her home!
First impressions: Yay! I have torque! Compared to my 250, I actually have some power down low now, don't have to downshift to pass somebody. Slow speed turns will take some getting used to with the extra power, need better clutch control. Riding position is definitely more aggressive, but not too uncomfortable. Fit/finish...not as good as the Kawasaki. I didn't notice this until I got home, but is it normal for the paint on the triple tree/fork (I think that's what it's called) to have the "orange peel" effect?
Double bonus: My Sidi B2 boots arrived today, no duty/tax charged, total of $150 CDN shipped!
