I'm a brand new rider (Apart from some dirt bike trail riding as a teen) and I recently picked up a somewhat unusual greybike, that being a Kawasaki GPZ400r. Considering I'm a total newb, I thought it might be a good idea to put some frame sliders on it to protect my investment. The bike is in shockingly good shape for a 22 year old bike (Not a single scratch on it) and from my time spent on the boards recently the consensus is that I'm probably going to lay it down at least once.
I'm taking a course at PRS and am definitely going to be riding like a man afraid of his own shadow for a good long while as I value both my own life and my new machine, but accidents happen, and I'd rather buy some sliders if it'll save me money on repairs in the long run.
Only question is, can I even find them? It seems like sliders are model specific, is this the case? Can I buy something generic and hack them onto the bike somehow? The GPZ400 apparently shares the majority of it's parts with the larger more common and sold in North America GPZ600, but I'm not sure where to find sliders for that bike either...
So, bottom line, rambling post, new guy doesn't want to wreck his (obscure) first bike and doesn't know if or where he can find the frame sliders he needs.
