I sent a couple of letters. Don't buy the bikes make more pollution. The total embodied energy and pollution of a car, cradle to grave, including infrastructure (roads, highways, parking) is way more than a scooter or motorcycle. If that were not true, then this photo would never exist... the folks in the picture are all on scooters and small motorcycles. Imagine if they could afford cars... photo of a traffic jam in Jakarta from the Globe and Mail.

I'm glad to hear that North Van is next being that I live in NV. But, at the same time, I live in NV and have never seen any pay parking here anyway. Maybe the odd private lot or something, but there are no meters anywhere on Marine, or Lonsdale, or anywhere else that I know of... We also don't have any HOV lanes in North Van either...
so exactly where are the benefits for getting North Van on board?
