So, here's my situation. I have an '07 CBR 600RR which I bought new. It has 12,000kms on it, but it also has an insurance claim on it for just over $5000. I lowsided it a couple years ago, and went through ICBC for the repairs. Basically what happened is I lowsided, then the bike slid and the rear wheel hit a concrete barrier, which bent the wheel. I got the shop to check everything to make sure the frame and swingarm were ok, and it turned out that everything was ok. The wheel alone cost $1100! Then add up all the plastics that had to be replaced, and the labour, and it was up to $5000, not enough to write it off though. Once I got the bike back, everything was mint, it still looks like brand new.
So, now that I've had the bike a few years, I'm getting tired of it, I want to get something different besides a typical 600cc modern sportbike. The problem is, with that claim in the history, and the mileage (12,000kms), I'm probably not going to get much for it, right? What would you guys do? Sell it at a huge loss, or just keep it and maybe try to get the most out of it? I'm getting pretty bored with this bike, but maybe if I start doing a bunch of modifications to it, it might be fun again..
