...and I caught the fawker in mid air!
First off, LBS= dumbass.
I experimented with sticking my Nuvi 765 onto the inner fairing cowl, using the in-car suction cup mount. (which has worked spectacularly in my utterly hideously rough riding 4x4, I may add)
I was about 1/2 way between Squamish and Whistler, toodling along, having watched the thing like a hawk for all that way, and given the mount several tests to try and budge it, it was solid!
Literally the same second I decided I didn't need the distraction of worrying about it, I see a flash of movement, and then my GPS is bouncing off the clutch perch and spinning in mid air.
I claim no skill other than pure dumb luck and 1 in a million odds, but I was able to snag it and not crash/have a heart attack, being all bugeyed with horror
Quickly stuck the thing in my groinal region and pulled over to the shoulder, noting with dismay that the suction cup/expensive cradle clip mount was AWOL.
I thought no way had the mount survived, and was debating whether or not it was even worth my time or life to walk back down the road looking for it, when I look down and see the mount firmly lodged between the tank and my still panic frozen left leg!
I have learned my lesson mit der experiments...
