    Body shops? PLEASE HELP! :)

Well, it seems that my bike has been found (see stolen bike thread), and my poor baby's been through a rough time... Any recommended bike spas (aka body shops)?

    Thanks guys

PS It's a Honda, if that matters... guess I probably shouldn't send it off to a Harley shop, or I may end up getting a sportster back, heh

Well, I'm not exactly sure. So far it sounds like a bit of plastics damage and a new ignition and gas cap, but I haven't seen it yet.

Do any of the regular shops around work on this? Imperial? 5th Gear?

Both Imperial and 5th do these types of repairs. Bodyshops "may" do the painting but alot don't like to get involved in bike fairings let alone mechanical repairs so you might want to hit up either of those 2 as they most likely have painters they can use t do any bodywork while they take care of any mechanical.

Oh goody, so they would do mechanical then?
Do they also check for actual body damage? For example, frame repair/gas tank damage?

Update: So it appears there's a few shops that deal with ICBC claims, and I just wanted your opinions on them...

Carter - they deal with them, but they're kind of far, so unless they are the BEST, I'm gonna stay clear

RMS - heard good and bad things about RMS, but does anyone have any experience dealing with their service department?

Imperial - I'm actually not sure if they do this, but I've got one good recommendation for them... anyone heard anything?

    Thanks guys

Carter downtown dropped one bike when it was in for service and wrote off another one when the lot kid took it out to "charge the battery". I kid you not. This was a few years ago so I'm sure those particular people aren't there anymore. Carter is a Honda dealer whereas the others are not.

RMS repaired bodywork and mechanical accident damage to better than new condition.

    No experience with Imperial.

Carter Honda is at the entrance to Granville Island. I take my bike there. They're pretty good but expensive.

Expensive doesn't matter - it's insured and as far as I understand, ICBC will be the one paying . I'd rather Carter gouges them than ICBC getting off the hook with some cheapo place. It's ridiculous how much we've all poured into ICBC and how much their execs bonuses are (from what I heard a couple of years back, up to 100 000!! - that's more than my annual salary!) so I think they can afford it
