Anyone catch BCCOM on CBC morning addition with Rick Cluff?
I thought BCCOM did OK, but when it came to helmet standards, you gotta have that figured out in advance with clear logic as you know the question is gonna come up! That part pf the interview was ackward and not very convincing - good thing time was not available for Rick to probe deeper. The general public I guess could or would not figure out why BCCOM was against proper helmet standards.
I don't personally have a beef against skid lids, some jurisdictions still don't have helmet laws in N.A for goodness sake. To me, if you ride a cruiser sedately, maybe you can justify the risk equation and live with a skid lid. But at least have something that the public can understand not a bunch of baffle about no proper helmet standards to adopt! That part was disingenuous to me. Freedom to make a choice would be better, that is what it is all about in the end. No doubt this is a tired argument here!
Also, a bit to many "ums" peppered the conversation when put on the spot. That was a clear indicator BCCOM was defensive. Gotta be on the offensive to be convincing imho.
