I'm happy to be back to my home ground for the first time this year. I belive central Oregon has the best collection of twisty roads with stunning scenery of both Washington and Oregon combined. This is also serving as a tire purchasing tour, I'm also getting a pair of new tires in Redmond, OR. (read no sales tax), ordering on www.motorcycle-superstore.com then ship them to that shop. If you want to get tires too, talk to me first, I don't want more than 3 of us showing up at that shop at same time!
Meeting time and place:
At 10 ish, somewhere in Bellingham. We can discuss. Rain or shine, because it's hard for me to arrange such a long weekend, and it's almost always dry in central Oregon.
What we gonna be doing is very similar to one I did last year. Take 2 days to get there, then stay there for 2 full days (3 nights), then take another 2 days to come back. Last year, we went there through Winthrop, it took too much time, and there wasn't much accomodation choices available where the sun started to go down. I'm thinking taking SR410 east of Mt. Rainier if it happens to open up. If not, we're taking I-90. If somebody wants to join first day only, then I'll try to throw some backroads here and there to make it more entertaining for them. I'm thinking to stay somewhere around Yakima for 1st and last night. I'm thinking staying 3 nights at a same place around Madras, Prineville, Redmond, etc.
