I'm planning on leaving tomorrow AM pre sunrise (4am -ish). Sumas
cross, Hwy 9 south. First Keystone ferry 7:15am to Port Towsend then loop
the penninsula. Aim for 5:15 Townsend ferry back to Whidbey Island...
then 9 or I5 back depending on time.
It's an all day ride... it's 950km's... it's not much standing around and
chinwagging. It's nice scenery, keep the bike moving.
Some expense is required, you need to make ferry reservations to
guarantee spots, and I would recommend booking on two return ferries
just in case something goes sideways. If you can't get on the last
ferry... it creates a whole lot of extra unplanned riding.
Interested folks reply to this thread or PM me your # and I will call you.
Yes Iceman, you can come, but I'd suggest you sleep on my couch
rather than ride from Richmond at 3:30am to meet me.
My ride journal was on my PC hardrive that crashed, so I can't remember
accurate times for the circumnavigation, that is why I am not certain
of the exact return ferry.
No running shoes, no folks who have been riding only one year...
No ZX14's... and no folks who have tires worn down to the threads
before the ride starts.
Note the start time... this is not for the Starbucks crowd.
