Cooool! So where can we get these?
My brain is the same shape as my hat!
I remember General tire used to have something like that, it worked like shit so it is no longer.
It does seem like they have put a fair bit of R&D into it, I'll wait till its been out a while.
Another thing is: I'm not sure how good the integrity of the tire will be after repeated punctures.
This Is Going To Hurt A Little Bit
cycle world tested this awhile ago. slowed leaks, but didn't seal them. although they rode over a 2x4 covered in nails.
slowing the leak could save your bacon tho...
change when you get home i guess. but looks ok for long trips and the uh-oh moment you find a nail in your tire
This technology has been around for a long time. I used to see this stuff in light duty truck tires. Perfect for trucks that were working on construction sites, where nails and other crap puncture tires all the time. It makes the tires very heavy though. I would think that on a sport bike, it would compromise performance by adding alot of unsprung weight, and rotating mass to the tire. Then again, I guess if you're just riding to starbucks and back, then it's all good.
