so, a workmate of mine discovered a flat rear tire when he went to hop on his bike to ride to work yesterday, and this evening he's got a buddy coming over with a come-along to lift the rear of the bike so he can take the rear wheel off to take it somewhere and get the tube changed (he rides a cruiser with spoke wheels, therefore the tube). we were talking and i got thinking, way out in the backcountry, or in the middle of the Serengeti, etc, I've heard the way you get the rear wheel off is simply to tip the bike over on its side, tear the wheel off, repair and reinstall, and then get 6 of the local village kids to help you stand the bike back up.
any of you out there ever have to do this?
anybody else got any good backcountry and/or ghetto wheel change stories?
(p.s. i guess this is a bit less troublesome with an FI bike than an older carburetted model...)
