I'm riding to Winthrop tomorrow morning, getting up really early.
I'm getting my crap organized, and decide to take a quick look at my tires, right before bed.
Piss me off, 11pm, and I see a hunk-o-steel in my rear.....bad timing.
I check air pressure, fine, do the soap & water test, no bubbles....hmmm, wonder if I should leave it in the tire, and risk it for 700kms tomorrow??
I decide not.....easier to plug in now, in the comfort of my garage, than to possibly have it got flat during the ride, adding risk, and doing a less than ideal, roadside repair in the Cascades.
So, i start yanking this 1'4" hunk of steel out, ready to plug it, and get to bed.
I keep pulling, and pulling.....turns out to be a big ole nail, BUT....when it finally comes out, no whoosh of air, not even a bit???
Here's the nail....almost all of it was in the tire:
So....I check, double check, triple check.....not a bubble, NO air coming out at all.
I'll check the tire before I leaver in the morning, fingers crossed, but pretty hard to believe.....this happen to anyone before?
Hope it doesn't blow on road tomorrow! Time for bed, 5hr's sleep ahead of me
