Do Canadian motorcycles have catalytic converter? For a long time I was under the impression that only motorcycles in California have cat. Is that true? Or does it depend on manufaturer, model, and year?
I got curious about this because I was reading up on a Kawasaki Z1000 service manual (for 2003/2004, model ZR1000-A1 and A2. I have a 2006 Z1000 by the way). Under the maximum power specification it says:
93.4 kW (127 PS) @10 000 r/min (rpm),
(MY, AU) 90.5 kW (123 PS) @10 000 r/min (rpm)
(HR) 78.2 kW (106 PS) @10 000 r/min (rpm)
(US) - - -
where MY = malaysia, AU = australia, HR = honeycomb catalitic converter model(restricted model), and US = USA
So apparently there's a huge difference in power with and without a cat! And from the above information I cannot tell if my bike has a cat or not. Any ideas?
