I had a weaved rope tether come apart that keeps a bag from opening completely. Anyone know where they can be had?

Here's a picture of what they should look like on the left and right sides.

MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) sells all kinds of rope, ribbon, climbing gear and tether materials - perhaps you can pick something up there and simply fashion one out for yourself ... ?

Ya, that's what I would suggest, make them yourself, be resourceful.

I make mine out of used bass guitar strings just because I have them available but they last forever in this application. Just crimp an electrical connector on each end that you can bolt or rivet through to hold it in place. Nylon rope works but wears out eventually.

Sounds good. I'll probably pick up some dog collars, heat a nail and melt a couple holes. I should be able to retain the clasp in case I ever need to open it completely. Maybe leather.

Unless someone knows a direct replacement that isn't Honda OEM.

Those looks way too bulky and are overkill for that application IMO.

You want something small, strong, and unobtrusive, that will easily fold into itself at the cases close, without impeding with storage in any way.
