I currently wear a 2010 Shoei RF-1100 in Yellow (If that's some how important.)
It's a Fiberglass shell etc etc, So as I was cleaning it over today with a microfiber cloth, I found the tiniest little crack in the top of the helmet. It's literally so small I only figured out it was a crack (as opposed to the regular scuffs caused by gravel on the highway etc) by running my finger over it.
I've never had to replace a helmet due to a crash before, or a big impact at all.
I'm wondering if this is maybe a serious issue? I store my helmets on a wooden shelf literally perfectly sized for helmets, and occasionally I'll bump the top of the helmet putting it in the shelf.
I know Shoei has an option to have them give the helmet a look over, but that's a few weeks I can't go without riding as my bike is my main mode of transport right now.
I would take pictures, but honestly (This is laughable, I know.) the crack is so ridiculously thin that it wont show up on my Cell phones camera.
I realize this is honestly a ridiculous post, but I don't want it to cost me my life in the off chance fiberglass shells would suffer in protection for things like this.
I suppose the question is, should I look into a replacement?
