For those of you who do long trips and leave family at home who may like to know where you are, or perhaps someone who may need to locate your battered body, if you haven't heard of the Spot GPS locator, it's a worthwhile addition to your bike. I got a call out of the blue from my GF one night; she zoomed in on the map and saw the motel that I was at and just called. http://international.findmespot.com/
And, there's nothing to stop you from sharing it with a friend. I use mine extensively and when Maggotbreath rode his Border to Border last year, he took mine with him.
The Spot web site has a place for you create a page that you can share with anyone who has the url. But, it's pretty crappy and slow. Go to Spotwalla and set up a free account. Your pings last indefinitely ( instead of 7 days ) and the site is much friendlier and faster.
Here's mine :http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=5173
