So I'm in the middle of helping my woman dispute a ticket. We filed a charter argument based on the fact that the ticket has taken 20 months to go to court. This is the Richmond courthouse and apparently the normal wait period for a ticket in dispute is only 12 months. So I figure we have a good shot.
After we filled out the paperwork for the charter argument the lady at the front desk gave us a new court date. She said that this new date isn't the date for the actual dispute, but it's the date to speak to crown council to get the new court date. I've never really heard of this before. Is this normal? And does anyone know what to expect with this first meeting?
