The plan: ride to Merritt via the Fraser Canyon and Hwy 8, settle in at the Middlesboro Pub for lunch in front of the big screen while enjoying Moto 2 and Moto-GP, then ride home.
Moto 2 is on at 2pm, Moto-GP at 3pm. To get there at 1:30, we need to leave the Tim Hortons Langley (200th and 86th) at 9:30 latest. So, meet time 9:15. Please have a full tank and an empty bladder - we'll refuel again in Lytton (160km) 2 to 2 1/2 hours depending on traffic.
Anyone leaving from Vancouver, I'll be on the road at 8:30. We could meet at Grandview and Boundary at 8:45.
Please post by 10pm Saturday if you're coming (if at all possible). I have prechecked the arrangement with the staff at Middlesboro, but I'll want to phone ahead to reserve the correct number of tables in the screen area.
P.S. Home-bound we can do whatever the gruop (or individuals) feel. Fastest and least interesting is the Coquihalla (not much more than 3hrs to Van). Reversing Hwy 8 and the canyon takes about 4- 4 1/2hrs to Langley and 1/2 hr more to Van. Total enthusiasts could ride south to Princeton, but that's probably 5 hrs home. We'll see... (sunset is 10 past 9)
P.P.S. I don't wanna seem like a nanny, but it goes without saying that alcohol consumption in any significant quantity does not mix well with motorcycling. It's a pub, but...
