Preface...I was listening to Norman Spector on the radio and he brought up a few points that I want to paraphrase and use as a commentary.
It appears this board has removed another member for whatever the reason they found to be just. (Taylor 192?) This is not another “bring back so and so” thread. I didn't agree with his bullet comments in a recent thread, as that can bring the house down here. However, when reading a lot of his replies, I noted that he usually gave reasons and related experience to comment or counter other comments. It also appeared he resorted to sarcasm when his comments were sarcastically replied to or when his reply was not read all the way through. . His ability to articulate his point while adding a paradigm shift was a nice change.
My observations were: that because he had a different way of looking at things which did not fit with the majority that actually write back and reply, he was not welcome here. Most of his replies were backed up with examples or a clarification on what he actually wrote.
I wonder if many of you only choose to read newspapers, commentators or articles of people who think the same way you do.
Do you ever listen to the points of a political party that is not the one you support?
Do you only support those that think like you?
Do you only watch news programs that are inline with your thoughts?
Do you drink your own bathwater? (an expression only, not sarcasm)
The ignore feature here has worked well for me, but I still stop and think on an opinion that differs from mine, because there is probably a nugget of truth in there.
