Hi all...my first post here so I hope I get this right....lol
SO I bought a 1990 GSXR 1100 about a month ago. I own a little bike shop in Aldergrove and I took the bike to the shop and gave it a going over...all seemed well. I insured it and we were spending some time getting to know each other...so far all seemed well....
Until Saturday 12JUN10....
Decided to take advantage of the good weather that day and left my shop around 4pm headed for Bridal Falls...was going to get some chow and cross the Rosedale bridge and come back towards town on Lougheed. I am cruising through the Chilliwack flats and had just passed a semi when I started to feel an odd vibration that rapidly got worse. It started to act weird in terms of handling so I decided to pull over and see what the deal was. As I slowed, it became obvious to me that I had lost the back tire as I have had a flat rear tire before and know what it felt like. I get the bike stopped and get off to look at the rear tire and much to my horror the tire delaminated...huge chunks/patches were gone from the tire...looked like the tread completely seperated from the carcass.
Now I understand there was/is a recall on Michelin Pilot front tires and this is a rear...but it is the same model tire.
Has anyone else had this problem?
