July 1st, Mission Raceway Track walk led by Bernie Ryan

    It's happening again !!!

Bernie Ryan will once again grace us with his presence.

    July 1st, 2010 WMRC Race Round #5

Bring your friends and family for a nice relaxing stroll around Mission Raceway while Bernie gives you some insight as what happens on track. Hear about corner speeds, racing lines, brake markers and more from one of the most entertaining people you may ever meet!!!

This event is always packed and it only happens once a year! This should be the busiest day of the year for a WMRC event. Come out and watch some fantastic racing, then take your bike out on track with our "Taste Of Racing" program, then enjoy Bernie Ryan's track walk at lunch!

Hope to see everyone out there.

Lol, Jayson, you know how to stretch it a little!
But, I do try to make it entertaining, and it seems to be a big hit with fans and sponsors who have never seen the track up close.
No extra charge, and the lineup for food is busy, so why not. We'll try and get a few racers to blast by, so you can get a sense of the speeds and angles. See ya on the 1st.

What Mr. Ryan really needs is a 45 gallon drum on wheels so he can do this "rant" style. Oh the good old days.......

Side note, the WMRC is kindly hosting some kids and thier families from BC Children's, which reminded me to remind you that the track walk is certainly kid friendly, as is the racing (I would bring ear plugs for the little ones). You'll be home in plenty of time for dinner!

yes, motards are welcome in the open singles class and F118, provided you meet the tech requirements. The biggest issue with the motards is meeting the sound requirements. You are also welcome to bring them out for Taste Of Racing.

No, we do not honor the RPM license. You must pass the full race school with West Coast Superbike School, or other schools from either PIR, Sullivan Race School (WMRRA), EMRA or CMRA race schools.

last year, we did have a demonstration class for RPM members, but very few came out. That class has not been run after round 1 in 2009. As long as you've passed a race school, you can purchase a WMRC license to compete. License cost is $150. Your first year is Novice, and that class is $90, plus a $30 med fee. Gate fees are $10 per person.

Once you graduate to Intermediate, you are eligible for more classes. $100 Superbike, $80 First Trophy class, $70 Second Trophy Class, 3rd Trophy Class $45. All other additional classes after that are $30 each.

Gear requirements are full face helmet and full boots, gloves and leathers with a back protector. We do not allow MX style helmets on our track due to the speeds we get up to. We had one rider wear one a few years back and won't allow them anymore. That rider almost lost his jaw.
