Nordel to highway 91
So I'm riding to work today in the light drizzle we had going on this morning. I Had decided to take the bike instead of the car CAUSE I'M SUCH A TROOPER, but anyways...
Casual cruise in, when I get to the bottom of the Nordel to H91 onramp, I took the outside corner nice and easy. About 1/4 of the way into the bend I cleared left, no rigs coming from the industrial zone across the highway, nobody infront of me. I checked my right just in time to watch an all black 90's era Prelude swing wide from his ass end, cross over the line into my lane a few inches and pull a full on 180 degree slide right into the grass on the inside corner. I before slowing down, there was nobody behind me so I pulled a U-turn and went to go see if he was alright but he had removed himself from the sticks and left the scene with his head hung in shame by the time I had my bike 50ft from his car.
I had PLENTY of space left between me and his car and I was going slow enough to fully enjoy his ordeal from start to finish. I've seen a few people ALMOST lose it on that bend, but never actually seen someone go all the way around. I cant help but wonder why anyone takes that corner at speed anymore with the amount of times I've seen the popo camping out down there. Once a week atleast lately!
TLDR: Guy spun out on H91 onramp, I laughed. I came to BCSB to share my lame story
I saw some dude on a Bandit or something like that on Georgia Street today, right after the Stanley Park curve, and he had his bike all loaded up for a multi-day tour ...
His bedroll (sleeping bag) and pillow were piled in full exposure on top of all the rest of his crap, held down by bungee chords and falppin in the breeze.
I take that same route everyday and also see people take that turn thinking they can go all "fast and furious" and drift in and out of that corner... It's really stupid.
