It's dark out coming back from Duffey Lake and a kilometre out of Squamish the bike seems to be pushed around by the wind. Pull into the gas station and it handles like ass. Flat rear tire. Whatever made the puncture is not there, find the hole in the center tread.
Plugged and filled it in under 15 minutes, would have been less if one of the local crackerjacks hadn't come over and diverted me by giving some amusing/unhelpful advice... " You need to take it off the rim, you'll never get that far...blah, blah thanks

Thought I was well and good prepared, but imagining the flat in the complete darkness in bumfack egypt got me thinking. A quick job in light is near impossible in dark if you can't see your problem and find your tools.
Long winded story, hoping this reminds you there is always something missing from your kit, and it's better to realize this before you need it.
