Hi everyone, I need some professional aid on how to remedy a current problem I am experiencing, perhaps ill share the story of what happened and whoever has the experience please chime in.
Specific Model of bike: 98 kawasaki zx7r
Bike running fine and smooth since start of this season. Full 10k service Serviced @ bby kawasaki jun 03 / 2010
Put on about 1200 kms since the servicing and the following problem occurred.
Just riding casually about to cruise to a stop at a light, bike suddenly starts to sputter as if like running out of gas, and stalls.
I try to start the bike with the start button, no crank, no sound, i can see the draw of power on the dash when i hit the key, but no buzz or clicks or anything that would indicate ignition or attempts to crank. Doesn't matter how I try to start her WOT or zero throttle no luck. Tried push starting, she cranks but doesn't wanna idle, dies immediately, and using throttle didn't help.
-Keys on start position, dash lights up.
-battery power full and operating.
-Oil checked, good and plenty
-Fuses in junk box are good.
-Gear in neutral, kick stand switch tight and secure.
-I have gas, on both main and reserve tanks.
-My chains are fine, cleaned lubed and properly tensioned.
-Choke levers are in appropriate positions.
-clutch lever works and bike finds neutral just fine.
What could the problem be?
What could cause the engine to suddenly stall while just cruising.
And what could affect my ignition?
-Clutch not fully disengaging problem?
-Possible clutch switch problem?
Where would you guys start with first?
I'd thought I'd give you guys a try before I took this to a shop or dealership.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you very much.
