This was my first experience with the traffic court so I thought I should share it with you. It was interesting experience. I saw bunch of people getting their fines lowered. I will likely dispute all future tickets.
Last year in May:
S2S, one cop hiding in a ditch with a radar gun, second guy 2.5kms up the road pulling people over (mostly bikes).
The guy with the radar did not show up for court, only the cop that wrote the ticket did (I talked to a friend of mine and he had the same experience, only one of two cops involved showed up)
When I talked to the cop before we went to the courtroom he admitted not having a proof so he asked me to plead guilty and he would withdraw the case. That sounded really weird and I was a bit afraid he was trying to set me up. I waited until the end of all guilty pleas and then the judge asked the cop if he had any cases he would like to withdraw. The cop turned to me and called me to the stand. Two minutes later I was out, charges dropped.
I was going to fight the alegations based on possibly wrong identification but the other cop not showing up made it really easy for me.
