87 ninja600r not charging
so after having to roll-start my bike in new west (good thing NW is one giant hill) i got poking around to try and figure out why my battery died. Discovered the nut holding the wire onto the starter was stripped so i tightened it up just enough so its tightish but didnt slip and come loose again. also, seems like the battery charge keeps diminishing (rode it about 20 mins since i got it home and put it on the charger over night. (voltmeter says im just under 12V while riding and moves slightly higher (very slightly but it moves) when i rev it up. Im assuming its the regulator/rectifier, well more hoping than assuming but it could also be the stator. anyone know how to test the regulator? bike has 44K kms on the clock and as far as i know, hasent sat for longer than the few winter months.
Search online for a .pdf manual for your bike. It will tell you what the charging voltage test numbers should be as well as continuity/resistance tests.
