I just wanted to share this story.
A co-worker I was talking to told me this story. He said the incident occurred about a week ago, I didn't ask the specifics but I'll update if I ever ask him.
His girlfriend was driving home from work and she stopped at an intersection by a bike at a red light. A pick-up truck came up from behind and rammed into the bike and launched the rider 10-15ft in the air and 10-15ft away into a ditch (? I think that's what he said). The truck took off, she got out and called EMS and she talked to the guy who was lying in the ditch dying. Eventually the poor guy bled to death on the side of the road. I can only imagine how the girl feels after having to see it. His bike was hit so hard that the bike literally bent in half so that the rear and the front wheels met. I dunno if any of my co-workers are reading this story but I thought I'd mention it here.
Keep ya eyes out for speeding cagers ready to take you out on your night rides. Maybe if the rider was in the lane position further to the right or the left by the white or yellow line it coulda changed things. Nobody knows... RIP to another rider anyways.
