I put my bike into proper winter storage (fuel stabilized with Stabil, drained my carbs, oil/filter change, took battery out, etc...) back in Nov 2009. I intended to insure it back in April 2010 when weather looked promising, but I never did.
Unfortunately, I popped the battery back in the charger prematurely and started the ride up in anticipation of getting my bike insured but never did as mentioned above. I started it up and rode a few circles around the cul-de-sac to warm it up and to do a once over before getting the insurance. Probably a total of a km or two around the block... Low and behold, we ended up buying a house a week later after I resurrected the ride and I decided not to insure it because I anticipated a busy summer with a lot fixing up on the new home for us.
So.. my question is this.. should I winterize it again? How long is the fuel good for or should I completely drain it and fill it new again? Even with Stabil in it, will it still work? Do I drain my carbs again or bother with an oil change again?
I did remove the batter shortly back in May and put it back on the tender... But what would be necessary for another + 8-10 month storage?
Thanks in advance..
** NOTE... Bike is stored in heated garage all the time...
