Well... I guess it was my turn to go down. I've had the knee out plenty over the last 30k kms on all kinds of bikes. Thursday on the way home after dinner out I'm heading around the first right corner end of Georgia into the causeway... get the knee out, lean it over.... back tire slides out and next thing I know I'm sliding on the road next to my bike. I've been around there a lot hotter before... I dunno maybe patch of glycol/oil. Happened so fast nothing I could do.
Anyhow, had on leather boots, full gloves, textile Joe Rocket Alter Ego (vents open) and jeans. Well, the jeans didn't do too hot. Got road rash on both legs, worst right leg about 3"x6" side of calf. Bruised and road rashed inside forearm on mesh part of jacket. Knee is a little screwed up.
I didn't feel the injuries at the time. Tried on get on and ride away but water pump busted off, pipe scratched to shit, radiator dangling. Couple guys who stopped behind me helped me get it over the curb and onto the grass in the park. I ended up rolling it towards the park, wife got me in the pickup.
Lucky me, no cops. Last thing I needed was tickets for whatever. $900 bucks in parts to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. I was laid up all weekend. Leg works more or less today. Moral of the story.... BUY LEATHER. I wouldn't have one bit of road rash with leather. I can't believe the idiots who ride in a speedo and sandals. Man, it's gonna hurt when they're in the shower after they go down.
