So after looking around for fender eliminators for my bike and not really liking what I saw, nor their prices, I decided to make my own for my '09 ZX-6R. Borrowing the idea from a poster on another forum, I headed off to the local hardware store to pick up a galvanized steel post cap, assorted hardware and a can of flat black spraypaint.
The post cap basically looks like this, minus where I already bent it to mount the plate:
After a whole bunch of fitting and trimming, then painting, I ended up with this:
Mounted on the bike, I ended up having a decent eliminator which also includes the stock plate light:
All tolled, I spent a bit over $20 and a few hours of work to put this together. And not one piece of the original assembly was hacked or destroyed so if I need to put the original fender back on it can be done very easily.
Just thought I would post this for others who may not want to, or have the money to spend on an expensive aftermarket eliminator kit.
