aug 11th duffylake road to lilooet
heading out with my brother tomorrow for a spirited ride.
(drz400sm and a cbr600f4i)
leaving vancouver before noon, i hope....
anyone know what the roads like???
Obviously, road to Whistler is all good. Whistler to Pemberton is decent with some rougher sections.
Mt. Currie to Lillooet River bridge has some rough spots - not really an issue except in a few corners if your pace is "spirited": http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Duffey+Lake+Rd%2FBC-99+N&daddr=50.306884,-122.608109&hl=en&geocode=FUjE_wIdeHuv-A%3B&mra=mift&mrsp=1,0&sz=13&sll=50.289888,-122.639008&sspn=0.099804,0.180588&ie=UTF8&z=13
This section after the bridge is Nirvana - mostly new pavement as of last year - but be aware that some of the right handers may have gravel: http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&sourc...4&ie=UTF8&z=14
And the last section to Lillooet is quite rough - watch out for potholes and longitudinal cracks down the centre of your lane that can gobble up a front tire: http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&sourc...6&ie=UTF8&z=12
This photo is representative of the last section, but there are portions that are much worse. Part of the fun is weaving among the cracks and potholes.
Have a fun and safe ride.
