I did a search but did not find many information on this topic other than the c-14 bill. I have a few questions.
1) Is it a Criminal Code of Canada conviction?
2) I have a Drive Without Consideration 144(1)(b) $196 + 6 points.
Will these points be under the old driver premium points where I have to pay $300 or will it fall under the new Driver Risk Premium. If it is a criminal code violation, if so it looks to be $905 for 3 years under DRP.
The officer said it would not be listed on a criminal record, do they have to issue you a different ticket for it to fall under that?
I also got a 15 day road side suspension and 48 hour. I wanted to know what the best way of going about trying to minimize the amount of time my license is taken away for. I have not had any tickets for the past 5 years.
The violation was given as 2 of us pulled away from a stop light and sped up to about 70ish in a 50. It was only about 200 meters and there was a red light in front of us but there was a cop behind us. It was a lapse in proper judgment where 5 seconds ended up being costly.
