I found this thread from Phil recently:
Not exactly my situation, so I thought I'd post a new one.
I bought a written-off 2001 Audi several years back. I tracked down the original owner and found out the exact history of the car.
It was a one-owner, dealer serviced, yadda-yadda. Great car. The car was involved in a relatively minor accident where the owner rear-ended someone. So front end damage.
Airbags did NOT go off. The original owner told me that ICBC was actually going to fix it, but he opted to write it off for a lower amount because he wanted a new car anyways. He's a rich guy, didn't care about losing a bit of money.
Anyways, I bought the car as a project to work on in my spare time.
Now the car is finished, and I need to get the final inspection. I phoned Canadian Tire and of course, they won't do that kind of inspection (I had to try!). I phoned a couple of bodyshops and they said they won't do it either because they didn't do the repairs.
I have photos of all the repairs and even the original parts still.
Kind of stuck. Anybody know of a shop that would do the final body/frame inspection so I can register it?
Thanks a bunch!
