Mostly cars and trucks being 'busted' and by busted I mean ass raped. But it would look like they are not wasting any time to exercise new powers.
Well if it's a harley being put on the tow truck I don't think it has anything to do with the rider loosing their bike for 7 days I feel bad for the guys but at the same time it's kind of funny seeing all the overheating/dead harleys on the side of the roads during the summer.

So you've stopped each time to ask and determine this is actually the result of "speeding by 40 over," and not other things, such as breakdowns, recovered stolen vehicles, driver's without licenses, administrative prohibitions and other arrests not connected with the new laws?Been seeing lots of tow trucks/Cruisers side by side
Regretfully, anecdotal evidence notwithstanding, I'm uncertain of the validity of your statement.
I think it's a reasonable assumption that in the first week of the new crackdown that there's a two truck near radar traps.
Maybe unsolicited by British Columbia Five-O, but if I were a tow truck driver, I'd be hanging around radar traps too.......just like tow trucks hang out by the Port Mann just WAITING for someone to break down.
I'm fairly certain (as a Port Mann commuter on a daily basis) the tow trucks are there, not so much for the benefit of the stalled vehicle, but to get whatever it is off the road to ensure the smooth movement of traffic.....such as the incident this morning that doubled my commute time.
The Port Mann Bridge as well as all other major bridges and the massey tunnel tenders contracts to have a tow truck / push truck on site during certain hours.
Also, each municipality has a contract with a certain tow truck company to do the tows and impounds, you can't just show up with a tow truck and hope to get the next tow.
I have an old radio shack scanner tucked away somewhere.
It might be fun to dial up the towing companys and see whats going on.
Anyone know what tow companys have the contracts?
I used to have a BC frequencies book but do you think I can find out the local vhf for tow trucks now?
Funny I just dug out that scanner and the first thing I here is cops ,I thought they all used ecom and computers now.
I didn't stop and ask but I see two police cruisers pulled over, driver looks completely ashamed and tow truck is loading the vehicle. Saw it on east hastings and broadway, and along barnet hwy. I'm just seeing more than usual which is what my statement is.
Ontario made a big deal of it when they made their big law about 40kph over. why wouldn't BC? I expect to see the headlines of people every day now.
