Some asshat riding from Pemberton to Whistler lowsided his bike but not just any asshat, ME!
I think it was a combination of cold tires and bad body position (I hear there are some BCSB members who know more about body position than motogp racers, I should ask them.) It was the switchback on suicide hill, I know the turn well and ride it hard and fast every day, today I just did it wrong. Whatever it was, it was my fault and down I went, the bike just slid out from under me, unfortunately I had enough of a head of steam on that it travelled a good distance across the road and spun into the guardrail. If it hadn't hit the guardrail, I think I would have been dealing with a few scratched fairings and engine cover, rashed up jacket and pants and a dented ego. Now I think I have a write off on my hands (trashed fairings, front cowling, windshield, front cowling stay, scratched & dented tank, dented up can, trashed tail section, broke off front m.cylinder, broke off rear brake pedal, right mirror, compression adjuster on fork) lots of other misc scratches and dents.
Luckily no traffic either way, a super soft landing for me, just a gentle slide down the road. No wait a minute, what am I saying.......for me it was just a gentle slide down the road but I'm nade of steel, if it had been anyone else they would have DIED! Seriously, it was a pretty easy welcome to the world of people who have fallen off their bikes.
And now I hang my head in shame and post the pics of what I did to my bike through my own incompetence.
