I had been disappointed by one of Ducati Dealer In Richmond, BC
I had an agreement with the dealer about a month ago on a ducati 848-2008 used 1400km on it. We agreed on the price $11500 and to secure the bike I put the down payment on it.(thats what normally people do).
I promised to pay everything on the 28 of September 2010.I have to wait to clear my money from my bank overseas and have it transferred to Canada.
It takes times, effort and some fees to clear the money from overseas bank and have it send here;especially when it is more than $10G. On the 28th, the bank failed to send the money here, they were saying about end of the month auditing and so on ( I dont know what they do with my money).
Thus, I came to the dealer and mentioned it to the salesperson that, there is a problem with the money clearance and I will pay off everything by the 9th of october 2010 ( as what the bank promised me). The sales person said, he will talk to the seller of the bike if he is okey with the 9th.
There is no call or any notification whatsoever from the salesperson so I assumed the seller is okey with the 9th( I dont know if it were you, would you think the same??)
I even reconfirmed with the salesperson, on the 7th that I am still waiting for the money, but have no worries coz the money is on the way and the salesperson said okey he will wait. No complain whatsoever.
so today, october 8th, 2010, I walked in with the money in my hand willing to pay the full amount.
Surprisingly, they sold the bike to someone else!!!without even alarming me!!
the salesperson said that the dealer's boss (apparently the owner of the bike) sold it a week or two weeks, the sales was clueless about this...(how come?I have no ideas).
the boss must know that I put the down payment on the bike!
I wasted my times, money and effort so I dont want to argue anymore. I got pissed off big time!
they just easily said that they will return my deposit.
they did return it, but what about all of the charges that I had paid??
I dont know how the business ethics here in B.C.
What is the point of downpayment?does it mean something??
how hard is it to give a costumer a call regarding the status of the bike??
is it really hard to dial a phone number?
I support the dealer locally for sure, not buying it from the U.S. but is this how a local dealer treat a costumer??!!
Anyhow, I am looking to get a replacement for that bike
I am intending to send export it outside the country, and at that time the dealer agreed not to charged me with the tax
( I still have to give them the full tax, but it won't go to the government and they will refund it as soon as the Bill of Leading comes out)
