In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary... come again?
Intense implications... Training crows to pick up litter for literally peanuts? Holy crow, that's nuts!
Litter is a bit tougher. He trained them to pick up coins. Litter is not uniform in shape, color, and so on. It is only identifiable from other objects if you understand the meme (you have the meme?) of the disposed object.
For instance, some computers are junk, but some are not, and you have to know a heck of a lot about computers (for a crow) to figure this out.
Same with chip bags and coffee cups. Training crows to pick up litter for peanuts could have some unintended consequences. Differentiating between litter and similar objects that still have value might be pretty tough for a crow, and has yet to be demonstrated. Awesome if it could be though.
i got so bored watching the video i forgot where i originally found it
the actual video of the crows was interesting , the monologue dull dull dull
I thought it was a good talk right up until it got REALLY good and he just left.
He didn't make the real breakthrough. There was no experiment that actually had crows doing something useful.
would have been more interesting if u put a coin in a got a crow
