    2007 GSX-R600 Stolen, Need a value.

So my bike was stolen from my driveway in September and I'm trying to work on a settlement with ICBC. Problem is, it's a buyer's market right now and on top of that, there are very few ads for 2007's. I'll be sifting through the marketplace on BCSB but I was wondering if anyone had any other sources for finding ads from earlier this year since all the Craigslist ones have expired...

    Any help is appreciated.

Maybe a Suzuki dealer could give you a price to use that's better?

You don't need a load of ads for 2007's to get a valuation. It's pretty
    simple.

There are tons of GSXR600's, or similar 600 supersports for sale...

It would take you about 10 minutes to come up with some year
range and price range... and estimate a high and low and come
    to an average.

Good idea, I'll call around, thanks!

Also, they won't even look at other similar bikes (ie. R6/CBR600R). So it's a bit challenging.

I thought ICBC gives you book value, regardless of what the used market is receiving, + the value for any accessories you've added.

That being said, I don't have actual experience with this.

    None.
when my bike was totaled, icbc gave me book value of the bike... i'd imagine they 'should' do the same for you.

they will give you book value + accessories or the amount you have it insured for. whichever is less.

my 92gsxr was appraised at 3500 but my insurance was valued for 2500. I got the 2500... little did I know the stock 08cans were the extra 1000 I could have had. live and learn

Here's what I seem to be learning through the experience:
If you insure your bike for less than what it's worth, they'll offer you what you've insured the bike for.

If you insure the bike for more than what it's worth, they'll try to give you a combination of book value and the cheapest bikes they've found on the market. From here, it's a process of convincing ICBC that your bike IS actually worth more than what they've offered and providing proof via ads/dealer quotes
