Aren't they purdy????
Aren't they purdy????
Not really haha
IMO BMW makes one good looking bike and its the s1000r
Kinda ugly, I think.
Not sure if they are ugly or not but... the bulk of them sitting on those wheels make them look like scooters without something else in the picture for scale. You know those really big scooters?
boy, that's a pretty low seat on the grey machine - I wonder if that's stock, or an option? (probably the latter?)
and, p.s., yes i do think they look nice - well integrated, more attractive than the VFR1200, anyway...
p.p.s. am I seeing top-opening side cases? if so, how sensible!

good gawd, y'all ... they're TOURING bikes - not race replicas.
ummm, then there's the promo vid:
"the unknown beckons us towards the horizon..."
"we twist and turn our way to the bottom of its secret..."
hoe-leeee! it's not a motorcycle, it's a psychic transmutation device!
If you want to make them look better, just park them beside a Goldboat.
Euro touring bikes have always been better handling beasts. The Japanese couldn't sell a touring biek in Europe until they tried to make something that handled.
Not as pretty as the VStrom, but not the worst oout there IMHO.
chicken strips are a sign of intelligence
unless you're at the track ;)
I think they are pretty damn ugly to be honest. I don't mind some of the BMW looks, but these don't do it for me at all. The only thing I do like about them is that they don't have the opposing twin. I really don't like the look of the opposing twin.
I used to be the same way. The thing just looked odd to my eyes. But after living with one for awhile, and using it for its intended purpose, I find it to be a great motor. And they keep improving the thing, too. DOHC 4-valve heads now. Being able to cruise all day at 130 and not have any vibration to put various parts of your anatomy to sleep is a good thing. And yes, I know there are other bikes with different configurations which can also claim that feature. A nice bonus is the fact that the engine itself is dead quiet which really cuts down on the fatigue factor.
But to each his own.
As far as these new bikes are concerned, I'm thinking overkill. Just one man's opinion.
On second thought, maybe that video is just evidence of a marketing department with too large a budget.
