One year ago today, I lost my very good friend and riding buddy Harry Deol.
Just thought I'd share...
Harry rode a '99 R6, and was seriously one of the nicest, most interesting, articulate people I had the pleasure to meet in my entire life. His bike was the first modern sportbike I had ever ridden, and it was what convinced me to upgrade from the ten year old beast I was riding at the time. It was me that finally gave him the final push to go and get a bike, after we had talked about it for so long.
He was a 23 year old dental student at U of A, and was absolutely brilliant. A popular guy with lots of friends, and he was always full of great stories. He played the perfect wing-man when you were at the bar. We were in the process of planning out a trip to do FAST at Racecity in Calgary, but I hadn't spoken to him for about a week before his death.
On the morning of March 13th Harry took his own life. He was suffering from bi-polar disorder...I had seen him at his depressing-lows, and spoken to him while he was on his dizzying-highs. This time the lows just got the better of him.
Rest in peace my friend, you won't ever be forgotten.
