how do I prove to customs age of import NSR250
I am in the process of trying to import a couple 2 strokers. In Japan, they dont have manufacture date on frame or on any title documents about the age of the bike. How do I prove to customs the age?? Anyone have any first hand knowledge?
I've heard of people requesting a letter from manufacturers that'll state the information and original load-out of the vehicle based on the vin. Call up Honda if it's possible to have them do a VIN search.
You can check this first:
And/or refer to this breakdown chart:
the lookup doesnt work because the bikes from Japan only have 11 digits....
Got my local honda dealer to type one in and nothing came up, here is a vin eg. MC16-1010499

Certificate of Origin stating year of manufacture for a "grey" bike?
Certificate of Title from the US? Or some documentation from Japan like a registration number or something or year it was built?
email honda japan with the VIN, they''ll send you the manufacture date. i used the email at customs when i brought in my mc21 and they took it.
