I was out for small ride today testing the heated gear.
30 minutes into my ride, i see a dog jotting around peeing on everything and not giving a f*ck about anything, passing other people who are walking their dogs. It runs across the street as soon as it sees me. i stop with plenty of room before it makes contact with me. he jumps up and wants to play.
i get off my bike and start petting it. its a old male fox terrier. running around to keep itself warm. phoned 3 fricken numbers on his tag! all of them no answer. so i sat on the side walk, wrapped him up in my hoodie. as soon as i wrapped him up he fell asleep. started making phone calls to friends with cars who could possibly swing by and pick him up and bring him to the spca. i walked around the neighborhood for a few blocks. knocked on their doors to see if he was a local dog. he didn't seem like it.
i got pretty pissed off from other people just ignoring the dog as they walk past him as it does have tags and is someone's dog. the owners must be out looking for the dog that's why none of the numbers work.
1 hour later of trying to figure what to do with the dog. got my friend just at the right time as he was coming home from work. was only a few blocks away. we brought him to the SPCA and they gave him a bed and food for the night. they are going to try and return him tomorrow. It feels kinda good knowing that i spent a hour of my time knowing that the little old pup has a warm bed and food instead of me riding past it and in the back of my mind thinking its probably under some bushes shaking to death, cold and hungry.
