I am spending WAY too much time on here. It's seriously scaring me...every time I log on, I fear that my mental health is deteriorating.
I need something else to occupy my roving eyeballs....which by the way, feel like they're about to dry up and fall out of my head at this hour.
I've had my head stuck in all sorts of crappy science texts for what seems like forever. I'm beginning to feel illiterate. My vocabulary sucks.
Recommend me some books, everyone! And they better be good. DO NOT mention any of the Bronte sisters, or Jane Austen, Dickens, or Tolstoy...oh, and leave Edith Wharton out of it too....yecchh!
I'll start with some recommendations of my own:
Winter's Tale, by Mark Helprin
Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov
The Yearling, by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings
Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The Rapture of Canaan, by Sheri Reynolds
I'm not saying that those are the most well-written books I've ever read...they're not. They're the ones that I read over and over, and don't tire of.
