Hot on the heels of the famous coffee maker thread, now for the second favorite appliance in my kitchen .......... the lowly toaster. Cinnamon- raisin, molasses, rye, sourdough - I love it all, crisped just prior to burnt then slathered in butter.
I'm in the market for a new one. My main priority is speed. I like the job done quickly, giving a nice, crisp outside and moist inside.
The best one I have ever used is in the crew galley of the CCGS Sir Wilfred Laurier. If you took too long pouring your coffee that thing would incinerate your bread. I swear one of the diesel mains were hooked up to that monster. Not much bigger than a home 4 slice unit, I wish I know who made it.
Anyone have any suggestions?
