I'm familiar with bikes going to race status, but I'm interested in purchasing a truck with rebuilt status. I'll do a search on it today for previous claims. I was told by ICBC that a private company can write the vehicle off as well as ICBC. I was also informed that 75% of bluebook value is a write off for ICBC. Apparently to be roadworthy a rebuilt status has to go thru two tests (frame and?) to become a roadworthy vehicle. I have a lifetime guarantee on the work the rebuilt company does to the vehicle, but that doesnt make me sleep knowing that there can be other items. Anyone bought a vehicle (not bike) as a rebuilt and insured? Im only interested in it cause I'll run it into the ground and have little interest in selling it fir at least six years.
