I just had my neighbor slip a piece of mail under my door. Sadly, the date of my dispute has arrived, only nine months and one week after the offense allegation.
Sooo, am I right in my first assumption that the charter argument is off the table?
I prepared my disclosure request to crown: do I mail it to crown? Seems I do, no? There is no address for the officer on the dispute notice, and I have misplaced the ticket (after nine months, no surprise there).
Any other steps I should be taking soon?
Next, assuming I don't have a charter argument, what kind of lines of questioning might be fruitful? Any anecdotes? I recall the specifics of the day, and I have no idea how my speed was assessed. Nor do I know how the dude could have spotted me. It was a highway side speed trap, couple cruisers, device on a tripod, but no reference made to it by the cop. No mention of how fast I was going, he just asked me if I knew how fast I was going. I declined to comment.
Last, should I ask to adjourn? I just got the notice, so I feel I don't have a ton of time here. But it is not the Crown's fault that I just got the notice. It was mailed to the wrong box in my building, in a unit that was empty till now. It was mailed on December 10, 2010.
